PostHeaderIcon New Moon Released! Making Lots of Money!

The New Moon release topped $20,000,000 opening night!
Fans everywhere are squealing!
Critics everywhere either like it or don't!
And so on!
I have browsed reviews of the film, and have found that female reviewers and fans of the novels liked the film better than guys and people who hated the first film.
No surprise there.
There have been some calls for 'more action!  Look at all those werewolves and vampires!  We need more action!'
And some complaints of things being drawn out just a bit . . .too . . . much . . .
Many people feel that Jacob Black is a great character!  Surely girls everywhere will turn from Team Edward to Team Jacob based on this film!*
Other people feel that it is not good that Edward is largely absent, while many say this is good, because Jacob is a better actor, better character, wears a shirt less, more attractive, etc, etc.
Some people are saying that the loyalty to the novel is definitely a plus for fans, but some people don't like that because they didn't like the novel.**

PostHeaderIcon Film stills, set pics, images galore!

I have browsed the wonders of the internet to bring you these delightful New Moon film related photos. Let us commence the viewing.

This image is a still from New Moon and clearly shows Bella and Jacob having a deep conversation on some stairs.  Looks like they're in a public building, since neither of them would have stairs like this in their homes.  Jacob has not yet discovered his wolfy powers, since he cuts his hair when he does and here he is exhibiting long flowing raven locks, and Bella looks a bit sad, as she does in New Moon a lot.

Here we have a happier Bella with her beloved bloodsucking fiend/heartthrob Edward.  They look like they're having a private moment, so perhaps we shouldn't be ogling them. This one could be either an early picture or a later one, but most certainly not a middle one because Edward runs off for a while there.

PostHeaderIcon Kristen Stewart's Hair

Some of you may be aware that in recent photos, Kristen Stewart is not sporting her long flowing Bella Swan locks.

This is because she is sporting Joan Jett locks, because crazy as it may seem, Kristen Stewart is in other films besides Twilight ones.

"But wait!" fans are saying, "I thought they were filming Eclipse now?  Surely they wouldn't leave her hair like that when clearly it should be long and flowing?  Her hair can't grow that fast!  That's insane!  No one would put that kind of pressure on her; to make her hair grow really fast!"

And fans are correct on all accounts.

Yes, they are giving her a Bella wig.  Nikki Reed wears a wig to play Rosalie and it seems to be working out, though anyone who sees a picture of Nikki Reed without her Rosalie getup on would know in an instant.

So a wig was a clear option.

Kristen Stewart will not be the first or last actress to wear a wig.

PostHeaderIcon More to be Seen of Jacob Black

For those of you waiting expectantly for scenic views of Jacob Black in the new trailer being released tomorrow, I have decided to give you a teaser.

If you look to your right, you will see a picture of Taylor Lautner from the film, and he is most certainly not wearing a shirt.

Readers of the book know that Jacob Black goes around with little covering his body in this segment of the story due to the fact that shapeshifting tends to destroy his clothing.

It would appear that filmmakers have decided to stay true to the book in this regard, and are fulfilling the promise of shapeshifting Native American boys in various states of undress.  As far as we know, this is the sort of thing Stephenie Meyer could only imagine.

PostHeaderIcon Barbie Dolls?

Do I dare believe?

Well, since I have photographic evidence, yes, I do.

Mattel is making Twilight Barbie dolls.

"What?" I hear Twilighters around the world say, "Can it be true?"

To which I reply, "Yes!  Look!"

I know everyone in the entire world is excited about this, with the possible exception of those people in Africa who are starving, however--they are only making Edward and Bella.

"But what about Jacob?  What about Alice?  Don't they deserve to be immortalized as Barbies too?" fans are asking.

Well, they probably do, since it would make money for all who are involved, but it would appear that this sort of thing, if it ever occurs, will not happen before the New Moon film is released.

PostHeaderIcon Twilight is SO not just for teen girls.

I love Twilight.
Okay, so yes, I am a girl, and yes, I act like a teenager, but I know there are plenty of people who are neither and like the Super-hyped Twilight Saga.

“I’m a guy and I like Twilight . . . is that weird?”
“It was much better than I thought it would be.”
“I really like the vampire mythology.”

Sure, the main storyline is romance, but look at all the ‘guy’ movies that have romantic elements.
Trust me; there are a lot of them.
And there is action and blood in Twilight as well.
I wasn’t sure I would like it, but then I started the first book . . . and after an hour or so ran out to buy the rest of the series.
I lent it to a coworker, and pretty soon all we could talk about was Edward, Bella and the rest.
And how we wanted to be vampires too.
Then the movie came out.
I wasn’t sure I would like the movie.
But I did.
My favorite book of the series is, of course, New Moon.
I love it because not only are there vampires, but there are werewolves.

PostHeaderIcon Dear New Moon,

I have such high hopes for you. You are my favorite book of the series. You have a great cast. You will have more Jacob Black. You will have Bella acting all depressed and then going to Italy and whatnot. And motorcycles and cliff-diving. In short, I think you have a lot of potential. You will also have a new director. I am not going to say the director for Twilight, Catherine Hardwicke, was bad, because that is not what I am getting to at all. But think of the Harry Potter franchise. Chris Columbus directed the first two, and they were very enjoyable. Then Alfonso Cuaron directed the third one and I nearly wet myself it was so good (when I say wet myself, I mean I was on the verge of tears, not that I had drippy drawers). Part of that was also because I liked the third book better than the first two. Part of it, though, was that he had a new and unique vision that he brought to the film. My dream is that this sort of thing will happen for you too. Chris Weitz will be directing you. He has a very varied and eclectic career. He even directed The Golden Compass, another one of my favorites, though it did not become a smash hit.
