PostHeaderIcon New Moon Released! Making Lots of Money!

The New Moon release topped $20,000,000 opening night!
Fans everywhere are squealing!
Critics everywhere either like it or don't!
And so on!
I have browsed reviews of the film, and have found that female reviewers and fans of the novels liked the film better than guys and people who hated the first film.
No surprise there.
There have been some calls for 'more action!  Look at all those werewolves and vampires!  We need more action!'
And some complaints of things being drawn out just a bit . . .too . . . much . . .
Many people feel that Jacob Black is a great character!  Surely girls everywhere will turn from Team Edward to Team Jacob based on this film!*
Other people feel that it is not good that Edward is largely absent, while many say this is good, because Jacob is a better actor, better character, wears a shirt less, more attractive, etc, etc.
Some people are saying that the loyalty to the novel is definitely a plus for fans, but some people don't like that because they didn't like the novel.**

PostHeaderIcon New New Moon Trailer!

During the VMAs, many exciting things happened, such as Kanye West being a bit of a jerk to Taylor Swift, but more importantly, yet another New Moon trailer was released.  This is definitely the best one yet and shows lots of close-ups of the notorious Volturi, especially the sadistic Jane (Dakota Fanning).  Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart also made minor appearances at the VMAs, but even that was not as exciting as the trailer, which indeed showed quite a bit of the two stars.

The trailer is on IMDb, and if you haven't read the book, beware of spoilers.  This very exciting preview reveals a lot of the plot, even showing Bella's hallucinations and cliff diving fiasco and Edward's crazed Romeo antics.

Many Team Edward fans will be happy to know that Edward appears shirtless in this trailer, and it would seem that he has been working his abdominals almost as much as Jacob.  Either that or someone pulled some very impressive photoshop-type moves.

PostHeaderIcon You know what I don't get?

What is it with Hollywood and all their ‘look these two are dating’ ‘oh no they’re not’ ‘oh they broke up’ ‘no they’re still dating’ nonsense.

Like with Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.
Sure, they play lovers in a film franchise, and are clearly very close, so I suppose people like to think they’re dating, but they have told the media that they are not.
So why can’t they just leave it at that?

PostHeaderIcon Kristen Stewart's Hair

Some of you may be aware that in recent photos, Kristen Stewart is not sporting her long flowing Bella Swan locks.

This is because she is sporting Joan Jett locks, because crazy as it may seem, Kristen Stewart is in other films besides Twilight ones.

"But wait!" fans are saying, "I thought they were filming Eclipse now?  Surely they wouldn't leave her hair like that when clearly it should be long and flowing?  Her hair can't grow that fast!  That's insane!  No one would put that kind of pressure on her; to make her hair grow really fast!"

And fans are correct on all accounts.

Yes, they are giving her a Bella wig.  Nikki Reed wears a wig to play Rosalie and it seems to be working out, though anyone who sees a picture of Nikki Reed without her Rosalie getup on would know in an instant.

So a wig was a clear option.

Kristen Stewart will not be the first or last actress to wear a wig.

PostHeaderIcon Good things come to those who wait.

Shocking as it is to at least some portion of the world, the new film Bandslam didn't exactly slam to the top of the film charts, despite the promise of a new New Moon trailer.  There were at least ten other films that did better in the United States this weekend.

It would appear that film producers felt that since the trailer has not thus far made enough people want to go see Bandslam, and since there's bootleg copies on the internet, they may as well release a high quality version to IMDb (please note that this is speculation only; it is remotely possible that there were other factors involved regarding this decision).

There are many questions remaining to all parties concerned, such as:

1.  Why does no one want to watch Vanessa Hudgens?  Is it because teens prefer her in High School Musical?  Or did people really not pay attention to who was in Bandslam at all?

2.  Does marketing for a film with the promise of another film's trailer just not work in this day and time?
